The Class 3 - 225 race cat built by our President Ugur Isik under Cougar license was sent to Cougar in England. Multiple World Class 1 series Champion and owner of Cougar Powerboats Steve Curtis was very satisfied about the performance of the cat with the Honda engine following the changes he performed to the hull of the race boat.

The time is approaching fast for the first ever Van Offshore GPs. Van being very far to major cities in Turkey, not a lot of people can find the time to visit, therefore we strongly recommend that you plan your trip to Van with YKM Travel as soon as you can. We also recommend that you take a couple of days more and plan a longer visit to enjoy the historical and touristical areas in Van, while you are there to witness two extremely challenging Offshore GPs.

Miele took second places on both race where Stihl took the chequered flag. Marmaris Yacht Marina took the third place on the first GP and SIF JCB 44 on the second GP. Capsized Marmaris Yacht Marina lost very valuable points on the race to the championship. Both Joseph Muhlbauer and Kerem Tuncer almost passed out due to the dehydration caused by the extreme heat on the first day at the end of the race.

It is truly a shock to everyone learning that Kadir Şaman has died. We are in deep sorrow for Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Kadir Şaman passing at hospital on Thursday morning. Kadri Şaman was taken to hospital because of cerebral hemorrhage and died on Thursday after a heart attack.

The 5th race of Architon Turkish Offshore Championship, Mersin MTSO Grand Prix was the scene of many momentous events. The racers wrestled with 2-meter high waves and Marmaris Yacht Marina (10) won the race.

Between Adana and Mersin Grand Prix, teams met at Autodrom, at a karting race. Onur Ozgul, Apa Racing Team, Team Director get the best time of the day with 40,139 result. Teams decided to meet on their free weekends for different sporting organizations.

Stihl Team Alpay Akdilek – Kerem Tuncer won the second Adana Grand Prix on Sunday. The team started at the pole position and lead all during the race, get the first place on the podium.

Stihl won the 3rd leg of Architon Turkish Offshore Championship Adana Grand Prix. Josef- Berna Mulhbauer, Team Miele, started the race at the second place and after the Lotus Jeans Racing Team's engine problems they gained again the second place.
Marmaris Yacht Marina, and Miele teams were in a great battle, Şerafettin Aydın and Barbaros Kutunsel Team Marmaris Yacht Marina won the third place on the podium.

UIM offshore committee had a weekend long meeting in Stokhölm. SVERA chairman and UIM Council member Christer Gustafsson led the workshop where 7 delegates discussed many different subjects during the weekend. The decision on a three year plan was taken along other important points.
Comminoff appoved the rules of “World Offshore 225 Championship” according to Turkish delegation proposal.

Four stroke engine suppliers looking forward to compete in World Offshore 225 Championship. IOC has tested the performance of 4 Stroke engines versus 2 Stroke engines to find a similar efficiency during the championship. A test course was laid in Tuzla and the test was done with the participation of 2007 Turkish Offshore Champions Alpay Akdilek and Kerem Tuncer. During the test original Mercury Optimax 225 HP tested on the test course at 1.100 kg., the minimum weight for the class 3 – 225. Then the engine changed with a four stroke Honda, at different weights lap times were recorded until with the minimum weight to 1.000 kg.
